Project story

Prof21 is a social network and e-learning platform for one of the most successful civil society NGOs in Romania. It allows teachers build an educational community meant to make schools in Romania better and more connected to the needs and issues of children and society. It enables users to take online courses, share their school activities (videos, lesson and activity plans, resources used) with other users, access new laws relevant for teachers, exchange news and opinions. Developing Prof21 was built for with EU funds, won during a harsh project competition. 

We've built it from the ground up using Laravel and our in-house CMS at the time. At peak load, it has thousands of concurrent users taking courses at the same time, so we made sure it runs smoothly no matter how many people are using it. 

Technologies and architecture

We built this comprehensive news platform using Laravel for back-end and HTML, CSS, JavaScript for the front-end.
